I was just reading a story over at
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2023392.ece and while I'm shocked at some of the details I have to say I'm not very surprised this has happened.
For those too lazy or too busy to go read the story for yourselves, some guy has made The Stepford Wives a reality and built himself a robot. She cleans house, reads news, etc etc...
The part that really got me to thinking though was the fact that he spent just two years and around $21,000 on the project. When you think about it, that's a lot less time and cash a lot of guys put into finding a real live woman to live with. And for the socially inept slob, that's quite a bargain. What's more, he'll never have to worry about losing half of his posessions in a divorce settlement!
